WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Composite Layup Technician, you'll be a key member of our Composite Fabrication Team, helping build carbon-fiber components used in our award-winning aircraft. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, take pride in quality workmanship, and are interested in developing a long-term career in aerospace manufacturing. This position requires no experience and is a great way to start your career at Epic.
Responsibilities
- Prepare molds, tooling, and forms for composite fabrication
- Measure, mark, and cut composite materials including carbon fiber tape, woven fabrics, honeycomb core, adhesives, and related materials
- Lay up composite materials according to engineering specifications and work instructions
- Vacuum bag composite assemblies for oven curing
- Inspect work to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support continuous improvement efforts and team objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Self-motivated, dependable, and organized
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for the majority of the shift
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to lift materials and equipment as required
COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE
Day Shift
Monday – Friday
6:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Starting Pay: $22.00/hour
Afternoon Shift
Monday – Thursday
3:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
Starting Pay: $23.00/hour (includes shift differential)
Training
A paid two-week training program is required for all new hires in Composites:
Monday – Friday
7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
