Accounting Associate

Description

Valor Oil is looking for an Accounting Associate to join the accounting team. This role will assist in obtaining, owning, and maintaining all fuel delivery paperwork and information with respect to Retail, Commercial & Industrial, and C-Store lines of business, for entry into accounting system. Also, this role will help oversee inventory processes, as well as inventory

reporting into the accounting system. The Accounting Department plays a vital role in protecting the Company’s financial health by billing customers in a timely manner, ensuring the Company collects revenue timely, while maintaining accurate inventory valuations. Accurate reporting is essential, as well as cross-functional collaboration.

Schedule: Mon - Fri 7:30 am - 4:30 pm 

Location: Owensboro, KY

Responsibilities

· Key transport loads for fuel management

· Key customer deliveries for tankwagon fuel sales

· Quote product prices for prospective customers and orders

· Key inventory receivers across all lines of business

· Key inventory blends, packaging, and transfers for Race department

· Key inventory AP invoicing

· Balancing of inventory across all lines of business

· Fixed Asset recording, reconciliation, and depreciation expense booking

· State excise and sales tax return filing

· Local jurisdiction tax filings

· Maintain various business licenses

· Month-end accruals and closing procedures

· Lease contracts maintenance and tracking

· Financial Statement review

· Any other accounting related functions assigned as needed

Skills & Qualifications

• Execution & Detail: Exceptional accuracy in financial transactions, strong multitasking abilities, and professional problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
• Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external customers.
• Bookkeeping Education/Experience
• Experience working in multi-customer or multi-division organizations preferred
• B/S in Finance or Accounting preferred
