About the Role
We are looking for an experienced NPD Quality Engineer to drive quality excellence throughout the New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle. The ideal candidate will ensure products are developed with the highest quality standards by collaborating with design, sourcing, suppliers, and customers. This role requires strong expertise in quality planning, process validation, supplier quality, and customer approvals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quality activities throughout the New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle.
- Develop and implement APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and DFMEA.
- Ensure product and process readiness before production.
- Coordinate sample builds, pilot production, validation trials, and first-off inspections.
- Work closely with design, sourcing, and suppliers to ensure product quality and manufacturability.
- Lead dimensional validation, product testing, process capability studies, and gauge validation activities.
- Manage customer quality requirements, product approvals, and documentation submissions.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience in dimensional inspection, GD&T interpretation, and engineering drawings.
- Experience with product validation, process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), and first article inspection (FAI).
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6–10 years of experience in NPD Quality.
- Proven experience in managing quality during new product development in Fasteners company.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
