Compensation range:

$22.52 - $28.83

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will provide continuous observation via video and two-way audio, provide psychological supportive services, and surveillance of assigned patients. The first line of action will be to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in any at risk behaviors. Next will be to alert the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. Staff will be knowledgeable and abide by patient and institutional confidentiality and related hospital policies. The Tele Sitter Monitor will evaluate and review utilization and operational workflows for Tele Sitter needs, equipment management, continuous use, and appropriate patient selection. They will work in the Patient Monitor role on an as needed basis.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

Six months direct patient care experience

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Current CPR certification

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must demonstrate communication skills and sensitivity for the hospitalized patient and family including those with psychological needs. Remains alert at all times while on duty. Ability to communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset. Ability to communicate with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes. Ability to use discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staff. Basic computer operation skills. Basic Microsoft windows experience. Efficiency in multitasking. Ability to prioritize simultaneous situations. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
