Hourly Rate

$19.00

Summary

Maintains and cleans rest rooms, lobby, meeting/banquet rooms and other public areas

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives work orders and schedules from supervisor.

  • Scrubs lavatory walls, floors, mirrors and fixtures.  Cleans toilets and urinals.

  • Replenishes rest room supplies. Replaces light bulbs.

  • Spot cleans rugs, carpet, upholstery, floors, walls, ceilings, draperies, windows, woodwork and room accessories to remove dirt, soot, stains, mildew and excess water and moisture.

  • Sweeps, scrubs and mops floors.  Vacuums carpets and rugs.

  • Dusts furniture and polishes metalwork.

  • Picks up dirty linen/terry and delivers clean supplies.

  • Washes windows, door panels and sills.

  • Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays and urns. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

  • Stocks and/or orders housekeeping carts with amenities and cleaning supplies for the next day.

  • Sprays or fogs carpet, upholstery, and accessories with fabric conditioners and protectors, deodorizers, and disinfectants.

  • Provides support to housekeeping staff.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must constantly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally, the employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, burns from hot equipment and lacerations from sharp objects.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The pace is generally moderate and may be quite fast.

Employees are required to perform all tasks as safely as possible and to adhere to the applicable safety procedures.

INTERACTION

Employees in this position interact daily with managers, supervisors and all restaurant personnel.  Although employees in this position must regularly work independently, employees in this position are required to keep the supervisor informed of his/her location and be assessable at all times.  Occasionally, this position will interact with guest and personnel from other departments.

SCHEDULING

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day.  Shifts will generally be rotated, as much as possible to be fair to everyone.  At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
