About the Role
We are looking for an organised, reliable, and proactive Optical Assistant to deliver great patient care and keep our busy practice running smoothly. You will manage front-of-house operations, patient scheduling, and general office administration. Above all, you’ll bring a genuine interest in people, an eye for detail, and a caring, can do attitude to every part of your day.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Front Desk: Welcome patients, answer calls, respond to emails, and manage appointment bookings and practice diaries.
Orders & Stock Admin: Process contact lens and product orders, track deliveries with suppliers, and keep patients updated.
Practice Administration: Handle supplier invoices, maintain accurate patient records, and process general administrative documentation.
Service Quality & Communication: Handle patient inquiries or complaints professionally, escalate issues to management when necessary, and ensure seamless team handovers.
What We're Looking For

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.
Previous optical or administrative experience (optical/medical background is a plus, but not essential).
- This role requires you to work some Saturdays.
