Description
The Opportunity
If you enjoy applying your quantitative and ML skills to real-world problems, coding production-quality analysis and tools, and working in a fast-paced environment with immediate and tangible feedback, our internship is ideal for you.
At Brevan Howard, we build systematic and discretionary investment processes that rely on rigorous analysis of a vast universe of data, such as asset prices, macroeconomic indicators, news, sell-side research, and trading signals.
Transforming this data into actionable insights is central to how we win, and we’re looking to find the next generation of portfolio managers and quants through our internship program—people who are eager to push the frontier of research and engineering in global macro investing.
This role is based in Tel Aviv.
Overview & Responsibilities
You will work directly with our front-office personnel to provide immediate impact on a range of projects:
- Build pipelines to extract and analyze data, develop models and trading signals, and support decision-making of Portfolio Managers
- Help developing systematic trading signals by extracting statistically robust patterns from complex time-series and unstructured data (e.g. news articles, research reports, and social media such as X) using statistical, machine learning, and NLP methods, while supporting the pod with research and analysis.
- Interns will have the ability to use leading LLMs for coding and research, understand how they interact with underlying data sources, and leverage the full AI stack to develop tools, conduct research, and generate trade ideas.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Studying Math, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics or Engineering, ideally with a focus on signal processing
- Research or practical experience in statistics and time series analysis
- Hands-on machine learning experience (e.g., regression, decision trees, neural networks)
- Proficiency in Python
- Strong mathematical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Technical proficiency in tools such as Excel, VBA or R
- A strong interest in financial markets, trading and financial products
- Financial markets experience is a plus but is not required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- An entrepreneurial mindset
