Description

Systems Engineer (Expert-Level)

Mission Intelligence Group is seeking an Expert-Level Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership across some of the nation's most critical GEOINT, defense, and intelligence initiatives. This role supports the engineering, integration, and modernization of complex systems spanning the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Intelligence Community environments. The ideal candidate brings deep systems engineering expertise, strategic insight, and a proven ability to guide large-scale acquisition and mission-focused technology efforts.

Your Role

As an Expert-Level Systems Engineer, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Government leadership, helping translate mission needs into impactful technical solutions. You will lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, from requirements development and architecture analysis to integration, testing, risk management, and strategic planning. This position requires the ability to operate across organizational boundaries, influence enterprise-level decisions, and support the successful delivery of critical GEOINT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support systems engineering activities across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agency environments.
  • Advise Government stakeholders on requirements engineering, solutions engineering, integration, and technology modernization efforts.
  • Analyze and trace mission, user, and system requirements to architectural and operational solutions.
  • Evaluate cloud service capabilities, workflows, system performance, and scheduling limitations.
  • Translate customer and mission needs into system and capability requirements.
  • Support requirements allocation across systems architectures and program implementations.
  • Perform and coordinate systems integration activities.
  • Lead or support Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Provide technical input for strategic planning, performance engineering, project management, and risk management efforts.
  • Recommend solution design improvements based on emerging technologies and evolving mission requirements.
  • Support enterprise-level engineering efforts involving multiple major acquisition programs.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-Level Systems Engineers.
