Description
We are seeking a seasoned, highly experienced, and motivated Senior Engineering and Delivery Lead to spearhead the end-to-end execution and technology delivery of regulatory reporting across multiple critical initiatives. The ideal candidate will lead multidisciplinary technology delivery teams responsible for delivering complex regulatory reporting solutions under tight regulatory deadlines. This role involves comprehensive oversight of project milestones, direct technical leadership on data integration and reporting pipelines, and proactive engagement with senior business, operations, compliance, and technology stakeholders. The candidate must possess deep technical expertise in modern big data, data processing, and cloud architectures, coupled with extensive domain knowledge in financial services and regulatory reporting. Strong leadership in driving delivery excellence, governance, risk controls, data quality, and stakeholder alignment across multiple concurrent programs is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead and guide core engineering and delivery teams responsible for the end-to-end delivery and operational execution of regulatory reporting solutions across multiple business lines and regulatory bodies.
- Spearhead delivery management and technical execution across multiple concurrent regulatory projects, ensuring timely milestones, budget conformance, and strict adherence to regulatory commitments.
- Drive the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable data and reporting pipelines utilizing big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Databricks, Apache Kafka, and enterprise cloud platforms.
- Lead regulatory delivery governance, including delivery risk management, operational readiness reviews, architecture conformance, and regulatory change management.
- Establish and enforce best practices for regulatory data accuracy, data lineage, metadata standards, auditability, data governance, and information security controls.
- Evaluate and validate technical solution designs and end-to-end data processing workflows to ensure compliance with stringent functional, non-functional, performance, and reporting requirements.
- Drive continuous modernization of regulatory reporting platforms by incorporating advanced analytics, automated reconciliation, automated validation checks, and AI-driven solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive technical reviews and trade-off analyses, translating complex technical architectures into well-reasoned recommendations and status updates for senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Apply in-depth domain knowledge of financial services, capital markets, banking products, and regulatory frameworks to resolve complex business problems and ensure reporting accuracy.
- Identify and drive opportunities for process automation, efficiency gains, robust controls, and scalability across the regulatory reporting lifecycle.
- Produce and maintain clear delivery roadmaps, architectural artifacts, project plans, and executive reporting dashboards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional and global teams—including product managers, business analysts, data stewards, operations, risk, compliance, and infrastructure teams—to ensure seamless execution.
- Engage proactively with senior executive stakeholders across Lines of Business (LoBs) and corporate functions, articulating progress, managing risks, and ensuring global alignment.
- Provide strong technical and people leadership, mentoring delivery leads and junior engineers while fostering a high-performance culture of accountability and innovation.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of proven experience in senior-level technology delivery, software engineering, and technical leadership roles within the banking or financial services industry.
- 5+ years of direct experience leading large-scale regulatory reporting delivery programs and multi-project technology portfolios.
- Strong hands-on technical background in big data platforms and tools, such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Databricks, Kafka, and relational/NoSQL databases.
- Experience with enterprise cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) implemented in combination with large-scale data and reporting ecosystems.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics, data quality frameworks, and automated reconciliation within big data and reporting environments.
- In-depth domain knowledge of financial services, regulatory reporting mandates, financial products, and risk/compliance processes.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar, multi-workstream regulatory delivery programs under strict deadlines and regulatory oversight.
- Strong decision-making, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate regulatory changes and adapt delivery roadmaps effectively.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with demonstrated capability to influence and engage with senior executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Results-oriented, resilient, and proactive leader with a track record of driving delivery excellence and operational rigor.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and manage high-performing, geographically distributed teams in a global, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts and their application to regulatory data processing/reporting will be an advantage.
