Description
"I feel the need. The need for speed."
Maverick had jets. You have enterprise AI deployments at some of the biggest manufacturers on the planet, and a seat where getting things live fast, and proving they work, is the whole game.
A fast-growing, venture-backed AI company in New York is hiring an AI Solutions Director. Their platform reads product, quality and warranty data and surfaces reliability problems before they turn into recalls, scrap and very expensive phone calls. Manufacturers love it. The deals are closing. Now they need someone brilliant to take each signed pilot and turn it into a live, measurable, expanding win.
That is this job. It is a big one.
What you will be doing
You own the full delivery journey for your accounts. Pilot kick-off, go-live, proving the use case, putting a hard number on the impact, then lining up the next use case with your commercial partner. You are the person the customer trusts to make it happen.
Scope and run enterprise implementations end to end, from first data pull to post-launch expansion
Get the customer's data in and usable, working through quality, ERP, PLM and warranty systems and the messy reality of plant data
Quantify impact in a way that lands with a plant director and a CFO in the same meeting
Build the playbooks that make deployment two faster than deployment one
Track margin, adoption and realised value across your portfolio like it is your own business
Mentor and lead junior delivery and solutions people as the team scales
Partner with the account owner on expansion, with a front row seat to a company growing very quickly
Exactly what you need to bring
Let us be precise, because the hiring team is.
8 to 10 years in solutions consulting, technical delivery, forward-deployed or outcome-owning customer success at an enterprise software company
You have personally owned enterprise implementations from pilot to live and measured result, not managed them from a steering committee
You have led or mentored delivery people and can run more than one account at a time
Analytical rigour: comfortable in the data, able to build the value case, able to defend the number when a sceptical plant manager pushes back
Industrial or manufacturing exposure, whether that is automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, electronics or industrial software. This is a real advantage, not a nice to have
Executive presence: you can hold a room with a VP of Quality or an operations leader and move them to a decision
What you need to know about AI
You do not need to be a machine learning engineer. You do need to have deployed an AI, analytics or data-heavy product into an enterprise and lived through the realities. That means:
Understanding how a model finds patterns in messy industrial data, and where it will and will not work
Knowing what data readiness actually looks like and why pilots stall when it is missing
Turning model outputs into business outcomes, so "the model flagged this failure mode" becomes "that saved the customer this much in warranty"
Handling the "the AI got this one wrong" conversation with a customer calmly and turning it into trust
If you have done this at an industrial analytics, IoT, AI or enterprise SaaS vendor, you will feel right at home.
"Talk to me, Goose."
Riffed, obviously. But that is the energy. You will be working wingman style with a commercial counterpart, in person, in New York, with a team that is sharp, ambitious and genuinely enjoying the ride.
What this is not
This is not a sales role wearing a technical badge. The hiring team is looking for a builder of outcomes, not a closer of contracts. If your happy place is the handover after signature, this one is for you. If your happy place is the signature itself, probably not.
The package
USD $235K base
Uncapped commission with accelerators, so the upside is real
Meaningful equity in a company on a steep growth curve
New York City, on-site, with two openings on the team
Great product. Customers who need it. A seat with real ownership and a comp structure that rewards you for delivering.
How to apply
Send your resume and a short note on one enterprise deployment you ran, what the customer wanted, what the data looked like when you walked in, and the number you put on the result. Big Wave Digital is managing this search on behalf of the client, and we reply to every application.
