Assurant Reverse Logistics is part of Assurant’s growing post-purchase and circular economy business across Australia and New Zealand. We partner with some of Australia’s leading retailers to deliver solutions across returns management, asset recovery, trade-in programs, product protection and circular economy services.
As part of global organisation Assurant, our Reverse Logistics business brings together technology, finance and operations to help retailers better manage products throughout the post-purchase lifecycle.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant/Business Partner to join our Finance team on a 10-month fixed-term contract.
This is a hands-on role supporting our Assurant Reverse Logistics operations across Australia and New Zealand, combining management accounting, commercial analysis and stakeholder partnering.
You’ll play an important role across month-end, customer reporting, revenue and receivables, budgeting and forecasting, while providing practical financial insights to support business decisions.
This role would suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail, can investigate variances and confidently partner with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage key month-end activities, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and supporting workpapers
- Prepare monthly financial results, customer and brand reporting, performance commentary and variance analysis
- Manage project revenue estimates, accruals, revenue recognition and customer invoicing
- Support budgeting and forecasting, including analysis of workforce costs and other business expenses
- Monitor receivables and support the resolution of overdue invoices and customer queries
- Partner with internal teams and external retail stakeholders, translating financial information into practical insights
- Support financial activities across our Australia and New Zealand operations
- Coordinate with shared-services teams and review outputs across different locations and time zones
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting
About you
You’ll be a commercially minded accountant who can work autonomously, meet deadlines and communicate confidently with stakeholders.
You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Management accounting experience across month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Experience preparing journals, accruals, reconciliations and variance commentary
- An understanding of revenue recognition, invoicing and receivables
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups and SUMIFS
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and deadline management
- Confidence working with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
Highly regarded
- CPA/CA qualified or currently working towards your qualification
- Experience using NetSuite
What’s on offer
- 10-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension
- Competitive base salary on offer
- Hybrid working, with 3 days in our Truganina office and 2 days from home
- Broad exposure across our Assurant Reverse Logistics Australia and New Zealand operations
- The opportunity to work in a role that combines technical accounting with genuine commercial and stakeholder exposure
Interested?
