Community Support Supervisor

Location: Kirksville, MO
Department: Centerstone – Youth Community Services
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday

Centerstone is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Supervisor to lead a team of Community Support Specialists serving youth and families throughout the Kirksville area. In this role, you will provide clinical guidance, supervision, and support to staff while ensuring high-quality, client-centered care that promotes positive outcomes for children, adolescents, and their families.

This position combines leadership, clinical expertise, and community collaboration to ensure services are delivered effectively, safely, and in alignment with evidence-based practices. What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to Community Support Specialists.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled individual supervision sessions and team meetings.
  • Support staff in effective time management, prioritization, and service delivery.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of team members.
  • Complete performance evaluations and support corrective action processes when necessary.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and backup support for staff during absences or complex situations.

Clinical Oversight

  • Provide clinical consultation and guidance regarding treatment approaches and client care.
  • Review and approve treatment plans, critical intervention plans, and required clinical documentation.
  • Complete intake assessments, annual psychosocial assessments, and diagnostic evaluations within scope of practice.
  • Develop and review strengths-based, client-centered treatment plans.
  • Facilitate case staffing meetings and assist with determining appropriate levels of care.
  • Participate in crisis response and intervention during business hours and on an as-needed basis after hours.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Review documentation regularly for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Monitor service delivery and outcomes to ensure high-quality care.
  • Report and escalate critical incidents according to policy.
  • Review travel documentation and service records to verify accuracy and medical necessity.

Community & Client Support

  • Collaborate with community partners, schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to coordinate services.
  • Accompany staff on community and home visits to support safety, service quality, and staff development.
  • Promote positive relationships with clients, families, community organizations, and referral sources.
  • Advocate for youth and families to ensure access to appropriate resources and services.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in organizational initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and strategic planning activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department and organizational goals.

Education & Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience providing community-based behavioral health services.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within two (2) weeks of employment.
  • Reliable transportation with current automobile insurance.
  • Ability to travel throughout the service area and transport clients when necessary.

Employment Requirements

  • Successful completion of criminal background, abuse/neglect, fingerprint, and driving record screenings.
  • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and automobile insurance.
