A Brief Overview
Responsible for management, maintenance and support of the organization's enterprise Intel-based computers, servers, mobile devices, applications, directory services, databases, utilities, equipment, and solutions on a 24-hour basis. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to planning, organizing, communicating, analyzing, evaluating, designing, testing, researching, securing, and implementing innovative technology solutions as well establishing technical standards, policies, procedures, and requirements for enterprise systems for the organization. Develops, presents, manages and implements policies, solutions, and projects. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Plans, manages, coordinates, organizes, and makes assignments for the current and future requirements of assigned areas of responsibility. Manages the overall IT day-to-day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance and ensures end-user satisfaction.
- Plan hardware and software upgrades, migrations and new implementations. Prepare documentation for staff to follow in order to successfully perform upgrades to software, operating systems and system firmware. Research and recommend such upgrades as necessary to maintain supported versions.
- Analyzes problems and opportunities from an enterprise perspective, and utilizes technical expertise to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions that reflect a thorough understanding of the business or clinical needs with an emphasis on reducing downtime and minimizing downtime.
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements a broad range of hardware and software products for applicability, compatibility, and long-range integration with other systems.
- Ensures staff are qualified, trained, productive, responsive, effective, accountable, crossed trained and highly competent.
- Develops and implements strategies to increase productivity, reduce expenses, and increase customer service levels in conjunction with and support of the I.S. strategic plan.
- Ensures the security and integrity of information, systems, applications, email, and directory services are in accordance with MLH policies and industry standards.
- Provides timely updates to director, customers and outside organizations, with competent, professional, and accurate communications, time estimates, project plans, and status reports
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- Required - Bachelor's Degree Computer sciences
- Preferred - Associates Degree Computer sciences
- Preferred - Master's Degree
Work Experience Requirements
- Required - Information Technology, project management, or advanced support management 3-5 years

- Demonstrated expertise in supporting Information Technologies and management as might be obtained through requisite Education/Training.
- Demonstrated leadership potential in the management of people, hardware, software and other resources.
- Demonstrated potential to consistently exercise sound judgment, manage multiple projects, often with conflicting priorities, and high stress situations.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in the management of people, processes, hardware, software, and other resources.
- Demonstrates proficiency in technical and business written, verbal, and presentation skills
Supervision Provided by this Position
- Supervises assigned Associates, Contractors and Vendors.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
- Subject to call back at all times.
- Subject to standard office working conditions with intermittent exposure to noisy computer equipment.
- Required to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to interpret equipment status indicators to determine appropriate operating condition. Indicators may include visual and/or auditory techniques or cues.
- Will occasionally experience very stressful working conditions due to tight project schedules and hardware or software emergencies.
- Ability to occasionally use small hand tools and be able to manipulate small equipment components such as screws, nuts or other fastening devices as usually found on computer equipment.
- Subject to regular periods of repetitive hand motion in the operation of computer terminals and other equipment.
- Must provide own transportation. Must be able to travel to any area of the organization, both local and remote as needed.
