This role is to provide technical leadership and support for the Site Manager with the day to day operations of Aldoga Solar Farm. The Lead Technician will Supervise employees, contractors, and work on site with a continuous emphasis on safety, quality, the environment, and regulatory compliance by utilizing training, experience, and strict adherence to company policies & procedures This is the senior position and as such, is expected to lead, train, and mentor all site technicians.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Site PV Technician team.
- Support the Site Manager in the development of a positive Safety culture and deliver daily safety leadership on site.
- Monthly, weekly, and daily planning in coordination with the Site manager, to ensure high efficiency of labour and assets.
- Regular reporting to ensure systems are properly recording the work done and work pending.
- Oversee contractors to ensure the safe and efficient performance of quality work.
- Overseeing and assisting with the execution of all preventative and corrective as required.
- Form part of an after hours on call roster to support operational requirements.
- Perform HV switching and maneuvers within the substation and around the facility as required.
- Achieve annual site KPIs.
- Review Work Orders and Pending works to reflect the correct information in reporting systems.
- Updating and review of operational systems and tools including, WER, ADP, Maximo, Enablon, Workday.
- Assist and/or provide training and support to the technicians to ensure that the technicians are well trained and can perform all works safely and to effectively while meeting all required standard.
- Lead and support the technicians in switching, troubleshooting, or repair in the to all on site Assets.
- Conduct proactive hazards and risk identification activities and assist with the close out, rectification and management of risks and hazards.
- Regular coordination with Central Support, including; Engineering, Cecoer, HSEQ, other.
- Train personnel in the proper use of safety gear, protective equipment, and control of energy sources to ensure work is performed safely.
- Monitor the tool inventory at the wind farm and maintain consumables and spare parts inventory.
- Complete and maintain required and accurate documentation and records associated with corrective, scheduled corrective and preventive maintenance of all aspects of the facility.
- Ensure that the O&M building, warehouse and workshop areas are well organised to promote safety and efficiency.
- Support with the performance of all required compliance and regulatory tasks.
- Ensure that safety, health requirements and cleanliness of facility and equipment are met.
- Schedule and track the progress of wind turbine maintenance and substations in order to meet established guidelines.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies
- A Grade Electrical License required
- Bachelor degree or equivalent technical competence in electrical engineering considered a benefit
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience in a PV reliability engineering or related role within the renewable sector.
- Exposure to PV technology, modelling, and business systems advantageous.
- Advanced communication skills and proven interpersonal abilities in a professional setting.
- Well organized and able to manage changing priorities.
- Must be able to travel for training and meetings to various locations (including international).
- Privileged Access Workers (PAW's) are required to obtain satisfactory results from Acciona's Suitability Assessment prior to commencement, this forms part of our standard pre-employment checks.
