Purpose:

The Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs Immunology Scientific Engagement will support the planning, coordination, and execution of Global Medical Affairs scientific engagement activities across key Immunology congresses and scientific meetings. This role will partner closely with Global Medical Affairs Leaders (GMALs), Scientific Engagement Leads (SELs), regional medical affairs teams, R&D, market access, and commercial partners to ensure effective and consistent external stakeholder engagement.

The Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs Immunology Scientific Engagement will help drive the end-to-end execution of congress planning activities, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, coordinate scientific exchange initiatives, and support the development of communication tools and engagement strategies that enhance the organization's scientific presence and impact. This position requires strong project management skills, exceptional collaboration capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic global environment.

You will be responsible for

Congress Planning & Execution:

  • Support the development and execution of Global Medical Affairs congress plans across priority Immunology congresses.

  • Coordinate congress planning activities across global, regional, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Manage congress planning tools, trackers, timelines, and governance processes to support successful execution.

  • Support onsite congress activities, including scientific engagement logistics, stakeholder coordination, and issue resolution.

  • Collaborate with meeting planning and external vendors to support congress-related activities.

Scientific Engagement Coordination:

  • Coordinate healthcare professional (HCP) scientific engagement activities in partnership with Medical Affairs, R&D, and regional teams.

  • Support development and maintenance of stakeholder engagement plans for priority disease areas and congresses.

  • Assist with identification and tracking of key external medical and scientific stakeholders and organizations.

  • Facilitate communication and information sharing across regions to improve visibility and consistency of external engagement activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Develop strong partnerships with Medical Affairs, R&D, Market Access, Commercial, and regional colleagues to ensure seamless execution of scientific engagement activities.

  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, working groups, and planning sessions.

  • Drive alignment on key milestones, deliverables, and business objectives.

Medical Communications & Training:

  • Support the development and execution of pre-congress communication and training activities.

  • Partner with GMALs, SELs, and cross-functional colleagues to coordinate scientific training materials and congress briefings.

  • Contribute to the development of congress-related communications, presentations, and engagement resources.

  • Manage congress-related internal communication channels, resources, and content repositories.

Process Improvement & Innovation:

  • Identify opportunities to improve congress planning processes, tools, and communication practices.

  • Support implementation of best practices and standardization across Immunology congress activities.

  • Contribute to post-congress evaluations and lessons-learned initiatives to enhance future execution.

Business Operations & Reporting:

  • Support budget tracking, vendor management, and congress-related operational activities.

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate progress, outcomes, and key insights.

  • Monitor performance metrics and support data-driven decision making related to scientific engagement activities.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) is required; An advanced degree is preferred

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in medical affairs in the pharmaceutical, biotech or related industry required

  • Experience working in and/or planning of Medical/Congress meetings preferred

  • Experience working with and/or logistics of KOL/Investigator engagements preferred

  • Experience handling medical affairs vendors (e.g., advisory board, meeting planning) is highly preferred

  • Project leadership skills and strong organizational skills are required

  • Experience in the Immunology therapeutic area is preferred

  • Ability to drive projects forward to completion while maintaining focus on the long-term strategy is required

  • Global mindset with proven track record to partner cross culturally and regionally is preferred

  • Critical thinking, interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, both written and oral and collaboration and teaming skills are required

  • Approximately 25% of domestic & international travel required

  • This position is located in Horsham, PA and follows a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remotely per week
