As part of the SRE Resiliency & Availability team, you’ll drive initiatives that embed Machine Learning, Generative AI, and automation into our resiliency strategy. Our mission is to simplify and automate compliance, observability, and resilience, enabling engineers to focus on innovation and speed.
The team owns strategic platforms that enable resilience engineering, recovery assurance, service dependency transparency, and resilience governance across the enterprise. These capabilities support engineering teams in understanding critical service dependencies, validating resilience controls, and improving operational resilience outcomes through automation and self-service experiences.
You’ll collaborate with experienced senior engineers and play a key role in developing the next generation of talent, solving real-world challenges that impact millions of customers.

Your Impact
As Senior Engineering Manager, you will:
Lead initiatives to create technical automation/AI solutions for governance and control processes across critical IT domains
Champion DevSecOps transformation and embed resiliency practices across engineering teams
Drive adoption of AI and automation to improve system reliability and reduce operational risk
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Lead engineering initiatives that strengthen operational resilience, recovery assurance, dependency transparency, and regulatory compliance obligations
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Ability to manage complex tasks across the team and deliver effectively pivot on priorities
Technical Delivery
Drive initiatives to automate governance and control processes across critical IT domains
Identify and implement opportunities to eliminate manual operations through scalable solutions
Champion adoption of AI, Machine Learning, and automation to improve system reliability and reduce operational risk
Define and track engineering, reliability, adoption, and operational risk metrics to demonstrate platform effectiveness and business value
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with senior technology leaders to align resiliency objectives with business priorities
Communicate technical strategies and outcomes to non-technical stakeholders effectively
Talent Development
Mentor and coach engineers, including graduates, to build future technical leaders
Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across engineering teams
Required Skills
Experience leading platform engineering, SRE, infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise-scale engineering organisations
Experience influencing engineering practices across multiple teams rather than a single delivery team
Strong understanding of operational resilience, service continuity, disaster recovery, observability, and control automation
Demonstrated success developing senior engineers and engineering leaders
Preferred Skills
Experience operating within highly regulated environments
Experience with operational resilience frameworks, recovery testing, service dependency mapping, and resilience engineering
Experience building internal engineering products and self-service platforms
Familiarity with APRA Prudential Standards including CPS 230
