Job Overview:

The Executive Meetings Sales Manager is an integral member of the Lake Nona Wave Hotel sales team, responsible for soliciting, qualifying, and contracting executive meetings and small group opportunities, primarily 10-30 rooms on peak. This role supports Wave Hotel's luxury lifestyle positioning by building value-based customer relationships, uncovering local and regional group demand, and converting small meetings into profitable rooms and catering revenue.

This position is designed for a developing hotel sales professional who can own an assigned small-group segment while partnering closely with sales leadership, events, marketing, revenue management, and hotel operations.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new small-group and executive-meeting opportunities through phone solicitation, email outreach, local market activity, networking, referrals, trade shows, and community engagement. Some travel may be required.
  • Respond to assigned sales inquiries in a timely and polished manner, qualify business thoroughly, and recommend the best meeting, guestroom, food and beverage, and experiential options for each customer.
  • Manage the assigned segment of executive meetings and small groups, primarily 10-30 rooms on peak, while understanding when to escalate larger or more complex opportunities to sales leadership.
  • Conduct site visits and customer presentations that showcase Wave Hotel, Lake Nona, wellness amenities, technology, food and beverage, meeting spaces, and the distinct lifestyle experience of the property.
  • Create proposals, estimates, contracts, written confirmations, and customer correspondence that are accurate, timely, and aligned with hotel standards.
  • Partner with the Events team to ensure a clean handoff after booking, including complete documentation of customer expectations, meeting requirements, special concessions, and critical program details.
  • Maintain timely and accurate activity, account, contact, trace, and booking records in Delphi and other required systems.
  • Support weekly sales tactics, pipeline review, decision-date follow-up, lost-business analysis, and rebooking efforts for prior-year small groups and executive meetings.
  • Understand the competitive set, market trends, demand patterns, and local business drivers, and use that knowledge to position Wave Hotel effectively against competing hotels and venues.
  • Build positive, productive relationships with Lake Nona Hotels team members, including Sales, Marketing, Events, Revenue Management, Operations, Food and Beverage, and hotel leadership.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals, activity expectations, response-time standards, and customer relationship objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education. Bachelor's degree preferred in hospitality, sales and marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field; equivalent hotel or hospitality experience will be considered.
  • Work Experience. One to three years of hotel sales, catering sales, event sales, sales coordination, hospitality operations, or related customer-facing sales experience preferred. Prior experience with group rooms, meetings, Delphi, PMS, or hotel proposals/contracts is a plus.
  • Sales Mindset. A motivated, proactive seller who enjoys prospecting, qualifying business, creating urgency, and converting opportunities into definite bookings.
  • Luxury/Lifestyle Presence. Ability to represent Wave Hotel with polish, professionalism, warmth, and a strong understanding of luxury lifestyle service expectations.
  • Relationship Builder. A people-focused team member who enjoys creating and nurturing lasting relationships with customers, community partners, and hotel team members.
  • Great Communicator. Excellent listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in English through both verbal and written communication.
  • Strong Administrator. Organization, follow-through, and the ability to maintain accurate records, contracts, traces, proposals, and reports are essential to success in this role.
  • Operational Awareness. Understanding of hotel operations, meeting execution, food and beverage, guestroom blocks, and customer expectations, with the ability to partner effectively across departments.
