Expert CAE IND

Job Introduction:

The Expert CAE position is a senior technical role responsible for leading the virtual validation of powertrain components & systems through advanced simulations. The expert collaborates closely with design, testing, manufacturing & global engineering teams to deliver high-quality

engineering solutions while mentoring team members & advancing CAE best practices.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead CAE activities for product development programs.

  • Define simulation methodologies, load cases and validation strategies for complex engineering problems.

  • Execute and review CAE simulations.

  • Identify failure mechanisms, perform root cause analysis and propose design solutions.

  • Develop and standardize CAE processes, guidelines and automation workflows.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and review support to engineering teams.

  • Collaborate with design, testing, manufacturing and global engineering teams to ensure robust product development.

  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality CAE solutions while meeting customer and project requirements.

Knowledge and Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical/automotive engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Machine Design & Finite Element Methods.

  • Familiarity with CAE workflows, models, validation & correlation techniques.

Work Experience:

15-20 years of relevant work experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in structural mechanics, strength and durability engineering.

  • Advanced proficiency in tools such as HyperMesh, Abaqus, Optistruct, Motion Solve, Masta, PreonLab and FEMFAT software’s.

  • Good understanding of material behavior & nonlinear analysis.

  • Ability to interpret road load data and evaluate simulation results.

  • Strong analytical thinking, engineering judgment and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Knowledge of automation and scripting (Python, TCL, VBA, MATLAB) to improve simulation efficiency.

  • Excellent technical communication, documentation and presentation skills.

  • Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical decisions and work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Continuous learning mindset with the ability to adopt new CAE methodologies, tools and industry best practices.

Maintains safe work practices, complies with Magna H&S requirements, and participates in training and hazard reporting.
