Description
The Technical Support Specialist – Network is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the organization's network infrastructure to ensure continuous, reliable, and secure business operations across all sites and locations.
The role works closely with the Network Administration, Server and Security Team in identifying, mitigating, and resolving network-related incidents, as well as supporting ongoing infrastructure and security initiatives
The Employee will:
Network Operation and Support:
- Monitor network performance and availability across all sites
- Provide Level 1–2 support for network-related incidents and requests
- Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and access issues
- Escalate complex issues to senior network administrators when necessary
Network Implementation and Maintenance:
- Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of:
- Routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices
- Support network deployment for new sites and expansions
- Ensure proper network configuration and adherence to standards
Network and Security Support:
- Assist in managing network security tools and solutions, including:
- Firewalls (Fortinet, Sophos, etc.)
- Endpoint and web security platforms
- Support enforcement of IT security standards and policies
- Ensure network availability and secure access to systems and applications
Incident and Ticket Management:
- Manage incidents, requests, and service tickets based on priority and SLA
- Provide timely updates and resolutions to stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of issues, actions, and resolutions
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain updated documentation of:
- Network diagrams
- Configurations
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Assist in preparing reports related to network performance and incidents
Continuous Improvement:
- Assist in network design discussions and planning activities
- Recommend improvements for performance, scalability, and security
- Stay updated with emerging networking technologies and best practice
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- College Graduate: Bachelor of Information Technology or
Bachelor of Computer Science - At least 1–3 years of relevant experience in network support
- Experience supporting:
- Enterprise networks
- Multi-site environments
- Firewall and security systems
- Strong knowledge of:
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, switching, wireless)
- Familiarity with:
- Firewall technologies (Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco)
- Network monitoring tools (e.g., Site24x7)
- Endpoint and web security tools
- Basic understanding of:
- Cloud networking concepts (Azure / hybrid environment preferred)
- Certifications Preferred:
- CCNA or equivalent
- ITIL Foundation (preferred)
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+ (optional)
- Microsoft certifications (optional)
