Office Aide - Bronx Library Center (Part-Time)

Compensation: $19,765 / year
Description
- Works as part of a team to provide public service and assist with outreach activities
- Provides assistance to patrons on the use of computers and other technology or software
- Welcome patrons and respond to in-person inquiries related to the ESOL / Literacy unit
- Answer phone and in-person inquiries
- Check in/out books, maintain the print collection
- Issue library cards
- Maintain room reservation calendar
- Provide administrative support to the Hub Manager and Intake Advisor including photocopying, maintaining calendars and organizing meetings, etc.
- Order and maintain office supplies and program materials
- Assist in student intake (student registration, pretesting, posttesting)
- Maintain program files
- Perform data entry (ASISTS rosters, test scores, etc.)
- Performs related duties as required
Required Education, Experience & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer services including on-line searching and Library resources preferred
- Successfully demonstrated public service experience with the ability to work well with a diverse patronage
- Proficiency with Envisionware and Sierra preferred
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Successfully demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Strong organization and planning skills, including the ability to perform multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
- Strong computer and other related technology skills, including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google applications, PCs, Macs and e-reader devices
