Finance, Planning, and Budgeting (FPB) has an outstanding opportunity for an Institutional Assessment Analyst to join their team.  

About this Opportunity  

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Assessment & Evaluation, the Institutional Assessment Analyst serves as a key contributor within the Institutional Assessment & Evaluation team within IADS unit at the University of Washington. This position supports institutional assessment, accreditation, and evaluation initiatives by gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting complex higher education survey, enrollment, and outcomes data. The analyst assists in preparing reports and presentations that communicate findings to university leadership, academic units, and external stakeholders. Working collaboratively across administrative and academic departments, the analyst supports compliance monitoring, institutional effectiveness, and evidence-based policy implementation. The role requires independent judgment, analytical precision, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights that inform strategic planning and decision-making across the University.

  • Data Collection, Management, and Analysis 25% 

  • Reporting, Visualization, and Communication 20%

  • Policy and Strategic Support 10% 

 

Required Qualifications

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Education Studies, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field, and three years of experience in institutional research, enrollment analytics, or related data analysis within higher education or a comparable environment 

  • Proficiency with data analysis and statistical software such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, R, SAS, or equivalent 

  • Experience designing, administering, and analyzing surveys using tools such as Qualtrics 

  • Excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis, including multivariate statistical methods 

  • Experience working with enrollment or student information systems (e.g., Banner) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences 

  • Demonstrated experience in working with diverse groups and teams; create a culture of inclusion and equity throughout the team while supporting the overall culture of FPB 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Policy, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field 

  • Experience supporting regional or programmatic accreditation processes 

  • Proficiency with SQL or similar query tools for data extraction and reporting 

  • Experience developing dashboards or visualizations in Tableau or Power BI 

  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards such as FERPA 

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to convey analytical findings to diverse audiences

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$73,140.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$90,000.00 annual
