Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s New Model Projects Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Trial Parts Ordering Analyst.
The primary responsibility of this role is lead and coordinate TMMMS activities related to new model launch with concentration in Trial Parts Ordering.
Reporting to the Manager of New Model Projects, the person in this role will support the New Model Project’s Team objective to ensure the parts that are required for production trials are available when needed.
What you’ll be doing
Manage New Model Function:
Parts Supply Management for all New Model Trials which include survey, order, logistics, delivery, and accounting of materials beforehand off to TMMMS shops
Daily interaction with multiple internal production departments and overall coordination of New Model Trial Parts for TMMMS
Order tracking to ensure zero flow out conditions at TMMMS (this includes working directly with the suppliers and LPs to coordinate expedite shipments) and making evaluations on the best recovery method
Engineering Change Instruction (ECI) – Apply part number change points to Trial Parts Orders which can include deletion of an order and creation of another to minimize cost
Parts shortage recovery that includes making the final decision on how to recover (EX: Expedite Carrier, Air Freight, Supplement, etc) to meet our zero-downtime target and continue to meet expedite cost target
Manage projects:
Lead Kaizen for areas of responsibility within Trial Parts Ordering
Warehouse lead for all Trial Parts order receiving and distribution
Liaison for TMMMS Trial Parts Ordering to external groups (TMNA, TMC, suppliers, etc)
Manage part buildout and startup at model change.
Manage processes:
Revise, Cancel, Create all Trial Parts Purchase Orders
Reconcile all invoices from suppliers to orders
Procure and manage freight expedites to meet New Model Trials
Resolve part shortages through expedites to achieve shop requests
Resolve problems:
Work with suppliers, Logistics providers, and shops to resolve Trial Parts issues
Resolve ordering issues related to parts calculations, scrap, production swings.
Maintain flexibility to manage the unknown, new projects, and crisis situations
What you bring
Bachelor of Science/Arts
Demonstrated knowledge of systems management (MSRS, SAP, etc)
Intermediate level proficiency of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc)
Demonstrated ability of budget management, purchase order creation, requisitions, and invoice reconciliation
2 years in Production Control
Demonstrated ability coordinating with vendors/suppliers
Ability to work different shifts / weekends as required
Added bonus if you have
Master’s Degree
Demonstrated knowledge of TPS tools
Logistics experience
High level of competence with MS Office operating systems
Toyota Co-op Experience
