Description
About the Job: As the Public Safety Parts Driver, you’ll ensure timely delivery of needed parts from our storeroom and vendors to our Police and Fire technicians across the City of Colorado Springs. This position is crucial in supporting our City’s Public Safety Fleet.
Work Schedule: 6:30am - 3:30pm OR 7:00am - 4:00pm
This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year.

As a Public Safety Parts Driver, you will:- Conduct daily delivery route consisting of multiple stops and pickups at serviced locations and vendors
- Reconciling and scanning invoices/returns from multiple vendors/locations
- Help ensure stockroom parts are accurately stocked and maintain/check inventory year-round
- Perform inventory cycle counts at multiple locations
- Utilize basic knowledge of vehicles and an ability to communicate all maintenance and safety concerns to the supervisor
- Pulling, receiving and stocking replenishment orders
- Removing used tires from multiple locations to designated used tire area which is exposed to elements
- Source and order parts/stock orders when needed
- Other duties as assigned
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:
- Colorado Springs and surrounding delivery area
- Automotive systems and parts
- Inventory management
Ability to:
- Perform cycle counts accurately and independently
- Use fleet management software like Assetworks
- Handle tires and other heavy items/parts
- Multitask and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment
- Safely operate vehicles in adverse weather conditions
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
- Two (2) years of full-time, professional experience in a related field
- Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary driver’s license not subject to restrictions
- Two years of previous parts delivery/order puller experience in a warehouse or automotive environment
- Two years of customer service experience in a related field
