Job Summary:
This job is responsible for leading a group of employees who perform strategic analysis to understand portfolio risk, increase profitability, and optimize operational performance. Key responsibilities include determining strategic priorities for the team, identifying trends, and leading efforts to maximize risk versus return for the business unit. Job expectations include using data and analytics to solve complex problems, coaching and developing employees, and partnering across technology, product, and risk leadership to drive performance.

This role serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership, delivering forward-looking insights and forecasts related to fraud losses, expenses, and the Total Cost of Fraud across Consumer, GWIM, and Small Business products. This role is responsible for developing loss forecasts, executive reporting, and performance updates that translate complex fraud, operational, and financial data into clear business narratives and actionable strategies that influence investment decisions, risk management, and enterprise priorities.  Role will provide ongoing commentary and recommendations regarding loss performance, expense management, forecast variances, and strategic initiatives. Success in this role requires exceptional analytical capabilities, strong executive presence, and the ability to synthesize complex information into concise, impactful business narratives that support executive decision-making. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead communication of long-term fraud loss forecasts across First-Party Fraud, Third-Party Fraud and billing disputes losses. Oversees Total Client Protection losses and expenses.

  • Develop executive-level reporting packages, presentations, and business reviews that communicate fraud performance, forecast outlooks, key risks, and strategic opportunities.

  • Partner with Fraud Strategy, Finance, Product, Risk, and Operations teams to align forecasting assumptions, business impacts, and performance expectations

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for fraud loss performance, forecasting methodologies, Client Protection impacts, and Total Cost of Fraud metrics

  • Influence and support cross-functional initiatives aimed at reducing fraud losses, optimizing expenses, improving client protection outcomes, and enhancing overall business performance

  • Present complex financial and fraud performance insights to senior leaders in a simplified, executive-ready format that enables informed decision-making

  • Responsible for Client Protection executive story telling related to fraud loss and other expenses

  • Ability to interpret financial results extracting trends to provide valuable insights to the business and Senior Management

  • Assist in providing ongoing financial support to Client Protection and loss finance teams

  • Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting processes and methodologies

  • Partner /Collaborate with finance and key stakeholders on the communication of forecast drivers, impacts, loss performance, and reconciliation

  • Prepare, distribute, and consolidate fraud loss and expense packages

  • Identify and implement improvements and adhere to all deadlines

  • Coaching teammates

    Required Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in Client Protection/Fraud, finance, accounting, and/or business management

    • Advanced understanding of 1st and 3rd party fraud (claims to charge-off timing, chargeback recovery rights, etc.)

    • Proven strong analytical and communication skills

    • Experience leading teams and/or projects

    • Strong financial knowledge and understanding of fraud loss drivers

    • Experience with PowerPoint, excel, e-Ledger and Enterprise GL tools (EPM) and executive story telling

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics (or related discipline)

    • 3+ years of fraud experience and/or 3+ years of analytical /financial experience including Forecasting (Consumer background preferred)

    • Outstanding quantitative, critical thinking, and analytical skills

    • Confidence with finance and accounting concepts

    • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with others, demonstrate leadership, and possess strong interpersonal skills

    • Ability communicate and interact with a high degree of professionalism with executive level personnel across the business

    • Ability to present, lead, support, and influence senior management and business stakeholders

    • Innovation mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo

    • Leadership and management skills, including development of teams and individuals
