Job Description
As a Security Officer New York State Licensed Patrol in East Elmhurst, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, support access control, and maintain a visible presence that helps deter incidents. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. - Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the facility, entrances, common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and report unauthorized persons or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear, accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation related to patrols, observations, and security-related events.
Minimum Requirements:
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- Access control/badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
