Description
- Install, modify and maintain computer networks such as local area networks, wide area networks,Internet access,andotherdatacommunicationssystems.
- Performnetworktroubleshootingtoisolate,diagnose and repaircommonnetworkproblems.
- Maintain Firewall ACL rules and Remote Access.
- Upgradedatanetworkequipmenttolateststable software andfirmwarereleases.
- Configure and deployroutingandswitchingequipment.
- Configure, deploy, troubleshoot and update Session Border Controller.
- Troubleshoot VoIP routing and function using SIP message captures.
- Provision, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot VoIP phones.
- Researchandrecommendsoftwareandhardware purchasestotheSenior Network Engineer.
- Prepare reports regarding usage, network vulnerabilities and relatedtopics.
- Install and maintain surveillance equipment and software.
- Troubleshoot IP surveillance camera, server and network operation.
- Must be available to assist “on-call’ technicians as needed.
- Understanding of Cisco Service Provider routing and switching.
- Understanding of SIP communications and call flows.
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking Concepts.
- Knowledgeof MerakiwirelessandVPNtechnologies.
- Knowledge of basic Analog Phone communications.
- KnowledgeofVoIPGateways/SBCs and Teams Direct Routing.
- Knowledge of current MS Windows Operating systems, MS Windows Server, HardwareVirtualization, ActiveDirectory, MS Azure andUnified Messaging.
- Skillinprofessionalcommunications bothverballyandinwriting.
- Skillinhandlingstressful situationswithharddeadlinesand/orconflictingpriorities.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees,otheragenciesandthepublic.
- Experience withMicrosoftTeamsasanEnterprisePBX.
- Experience inCisco Enterpriserouters,switchesandfirewalldevices.
- Experienceplanning,organizingandfulfilling projects that include cooperation between multiple departments and vendors.
- Experience with Video Surveillance Platforms and System Design.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely related technical field; AND three years’ experience in network administration and computer systems; prior work experience in a government setting is preferred.
