What You’ll Do At Elekta
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Neuro engineering team, you will work alongside highly skilled software engineers, product owners, software architects and system engineers across two agile teams, in close collaboration with software verification engineers. The group develops innovative new features and maintains Leksell GammaPlan®, a desktop application used by clinicians to plan radiosurgery treatments with Leksell Gamma Knife®.
You will contribute across the full software development process, from requirements engineering, architecture and detailed design to implementation and unit testing. The team works on a broad range of areas, including Linux OS configuration, GUI features and the development and implementation of advanced algorithms. Given this breadth, the role can be shaped to some extent around your experience and expertise, with strong C++ knowledge as the common foundation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and documentation
- Design and develop robust, maintainable software within a complex and high-quality engineering environment
- Review code and software documentation to ensure high standards of quality
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an agile setup (SAFe/Scrum)
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and methodologies
- Ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements relevant to software development
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and team practices
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in software engineering, typically 4+ years
- Strong proficiency in C++
- Experience working with complex systems across multiple layers
- Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles
- Experience working in agile environments such as Scrum or SAFe
- Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
