The Position

Tax Specialist

Roche Portugal, Lisbon

The Opportunity

As a Tax Specialist based in Lisbon - Portugal, you will be a business partner for the Iberia region, acting as a strategic advisor, guiding our business operations on all tax-related matters for both daily activities and high-impact strategic projects. You will join a collaborative and forward-thinking finance ecosystem where your expertise directly supports our sustainable long-term growth.

In this role, you will:

• Advise and partner with key business areas and cross-functional teams to provide clear guidance on national and international tax strategies.

• Manage and complete timely tax returns and reports regarding State, regional, and municipal taxes across multiple jurisdictions, and the month-end closing process.

• Assess the impact of Pillar Two / GloBE regulations, ensuring global compliance and alignment with our corporate tax strategy. 

• Coordinate and monitor Transfer Pricing Policies, including the preparation of Local Files and supporting documentation for intra-group transactions and intercompany agreements.

• Support tax audit procedures addressing Tax requirements

• Drive process optimization by identifying, proposing, and implementing tax management automation and systematization projects.

• Collaborate actively on national and international projects, fostering strong connection points across the broader Iberia network.

Who You Are

You are a highly analytical, proactive tax professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and values collaborative problem-solving. You enjoy transforming complex fiscal regulations into practical business solutions. To be successful in this role, you bring:

• Educational Background: A university degree in a Business Administration or Law, with a dedicated specialization in Tax.

• Professional Experience: Robust tax experience within a multinational corporation, a major law firm, or a Big 4 consultancy environment.

• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of corporate taxation and transfer pricing. Knowledge in emerging regulations like Pillar Two / GloBE and/or SAP is considered a valuable plus.

• Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English and Portuguese, combined with intermediate skills in Spanish, enabling seamless regional collaboration.

• Mindset: A continuous-improvement mindset with a passion for digital transformation and risk mitigation.

• While we embrace a hybrid work model, proximity to the Roche office in Lisbon, Amadora, is required to ensure you can comfortably commute.
