Are you passionate about sports and dedicated to mentoring youth?
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sports Coach to lead our Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer teams to success at Boys & Girls Club Independence High School Afterschool program. In this role, you will do more than just run drills-you will inspire athletes both on and off the court, promote discipline and sportsmanship, and foster a highly positive, competitive, and inclusive team environment.

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Job Type: Part-time (10-15 hours/week)

Schedule: Practices are Monday–Thursday from 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM. Games are on weekdays from 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM.
What You'll Do:

Training & Strategy: Design and implement practice sessions that enhance technical skills and physical conditioning for students of all experience levels. Develop tactical game plans and adjust strategies based on opponents' strengths and weaknesses.

Mentorship & Academic Support: Lead team meetings and motivate players to achieve their best. Enforce academic requirements by regularly pulling grades and supporting student success in the classroom.

Player Evaluation & Recruitment: Monitor athlete progress, provide constructive feedback, track goal achievements, and recruit talented athletes to strengthen the team.

Administration & Communication: Manage scheduling for practices, games, and tournaments. Handle equipment and uniform inventory, ensure compliance with league rules, and maintain open communication with players, parents, and school staff.
What We're Looking For:

Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or older.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: Previous coaching or playing experience in Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer at the high school, collegiate, or club level is highly preferred. Must have a strong understanding of techniques, rules, and youth development.

Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and behavior management skills. Ability to build rapport with athletes and work well with the Boys & Girls club, the school and general public.

Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications may be required.
