Position Overview:
Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is looking for an early career and talented Software Engineer to join our DCWS Mission Area. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of our agile team, who supports the planning and execution of our quality assurance effort to ensure the solution meets the needs of our customers. You will participate in aspects of solution development including design, scripting, programming, integration, testing and documentation. You will learn and use multiple programming languages, Linux distributions, and development tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and roles to automate the deployment and configuration of ESXi, Rocky, and Oracle nodes and software applications.
- Support containerization efforts, including building and versioning container images under the direction of senior engineers, for distribution in offline environments.
- Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and/or GitHub Actions to support iterative software delivery across products.
- Support troubleshooting of deployment, networking, storage, and configuration issues across the application stack in air-gapped environments, escalating as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 0-2 years of professional experience, including internship experience.
- Exposure or understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with Linux command line environments.
- Exposure to version control (Git) and at least one build tool.
- Understanding of basic security concepts, including authentication, authorization, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work under supervision and exercise judgment on when to escalate versus research independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Python and Ansible
- Experience deploying software to bare-metal or custom server hardware outside of traditional data center or cloud environments.
- Familiarity with JIRA, GitHub, and Agile processes
- Working knowledge of security principles, including least privilege, authorization, authentication, confidentiality, and integrity.
