Job Description
As a Paralegal with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details
- Full-time 40-hour work weeks.
- Support the General Counsel’s office
- Salary up to: $70,000.00 based on education and experience
Responsibilities
- Assists the OMES General Counsel, attorneys, or client as requested.
- Responsible for the preparation of correspondence, coordination, and filing of legal documents, contracts, etc., for the General Counsel and legal team.
- Utilizing OMES’ contract management system and electronic signature platform, organizes contract documents and circulates documents for signature.
- Assists and coordinates with the attorneys and requestors regarding Open Records Act requests utilizing the state’s electronic system.
- Serves as court clerk for OMES administrative cases under the Administrative Procedures Act. This includes handling filings of the parties and working with the assigned administrative law judge.
- Opens, scans or reads and distributes mail; composes official correspondence for supervisor’s signature, disposes of routine correspondence.
- Screens telephone calls; provides information or refers callers to appropriate staff members; answers inquiries.
- Assists with team calendar or other administrative tasks.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field and one (1) year of paralegal or legal assistant experience; or
- A Certified Paralegal Certification approved by a national association or American Bar Association (ABA) approved program and two (2) years of experience as a paralegal or a legal assistant; or
- Five years of supervised experience can substitute for formal education.
