FOH Floor Manager

Job Description

We are open every day of the year—including holidays—and as a cocktail lounge, we operate late into the night. Candidates must be comfortable working evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as part of this role.

Role Overview

The FOH Floor Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining high hospitality standards, and creating team consistency.

This role bridges guest experience with operational excellence—leading servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff while working closely with BOH and upper management. You’ll set the tone on the floor, solve problems in real time, and help build a culture of professionalism, warmth, accountability, and strong guest service.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Standards

• Lead by example in delivering exceptional hospitality
• Greet and engage with guests while creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Handle guest concerns and service recovery situations quickly and professionally
• Ensure FOH staff follow service standards, sequence of service, and Utah liquor laws
• Maintain strong floor presence during service and support overall guest satisfaction

Team Leadership & Training

• Supervise, coach, and motivate staff members during shifts
• Support onboarding and execution of training programs
• Reinforce company standards, policies, and expectations
• Provide real-time feedback and escalate performance concerns when needed
• Help create a positive, accountable, and team-driven work environment

Operational Oversight

• Manage floor flow, table turns, and guest seating in coordination with hosts
• Ensure proper staffing levels and communicate scheduling needs with management
• Monitor cleanliness, opening/closing duties, and overall readiness of all service areas
• Verify compliance with sanitation, health, and safety standards
• Assist with inventory tracking, restocking, and maintaining fully stocked bar and service stations
• Step in with station setup, expo support, or bar prep when needed to ensure smooth operations

Financial & Compliance

• Support managers with comps, voids, discounts, and accurate shift reporting
• Assist with cash handling procedures including safe counts, deposits, and drawer checks
• Monitor staff adherence to cash handling policies
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and full compliance with Utah liquor laws

Qualifications

• 2+ years of FOH leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant, bar, or lounge
• Strong knowledge of service standards, guest relations, and staff development
• Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused during high-volume service
• Current Utah Alcohol Manager Certification and Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain before start)
