Description
Skilled food processing mechanic specializing in welding, plumbing, and boiler operation and repair. Broad general knowledge of welding techniques (i.e. MIG, TIG, Sanitary Stick, etc.) and must be able to apply these techniques to various operations within the plant. General knowledge of various power tools and be able to operate these tools in a safe and proficient manner. Proficient in blueprint reading, equipment fabrication, equipment installation, fork lift operation, and lathe operation. Ability to perform plumbing related to the food processing operation. Proficient in the following areas: Installation of all water, drain, boiler, HVAC, air compressors, condensate, natural gas, refrigeration, hot water baseboard, and all related systems. Proficient in pump repairs. Knowledgeable and proficient in all phases of plumbing. Assist in budgeting of plumbing supplies and inventory controls of same. Knowledgeable in roof repairs and building maintenance. Can work from simple blueprints or sketches. Keep work area clean and orderly. High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred 2 years of experience working in maintenance in a large production facility. 2 years of working knowledge of HVAC systems. 2 years of working knowledge of plumbing systems. 2 years of experience welding. 2 years of experience operating and repairing boilers and steam systems. Lift, push, pull a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly.
