Own the system-level test strategy for machine control systems and prove it works in the real world. If you've got hands-on experience with 3D machine control systems, understand GNSS/GPS, and know your way around a test site, this is the opportunity for you!  

About the role

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own their work end-to-end. You will be responsible for system-level field testing of Topcon machine control products across multiple machines, including dozers, graders, and excavators. That means designing test plans, diagnosing what's wrong when it isn't working, and signing off when it is.

You will work directly with the engineering and product development teams, and take real ownership of test coverage, defect investigation, and release readiness.

This role is based at our Loganholme test facility. Fully on-site.

What you'll be doing

• Own the field test strategy for machine control products, from coverage planning through to release sign-off.

• Design and execute test plans, prioritised by release scope and risk.

• Lead defect investigation and root cause analysis across hardware and software.

• Perform regression and performance validation in real-world operating conditions.

• Build and maintain test infrastructure including cabling, bracketry, and equipment.

• Provide technical guidance to engineers and drive defect resolution.

• Liaise with on-site suppliers and third-party contractors.

• Contribute to WHS standards and site compliance.

What you'll bring

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and testing 3D machine control systems.

• Experience with test management tools such as TestRail or qTest.

• Sound understanding of GNSS/GPS and basic survey principles.

• Technical or trade qualifications in Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Computing, or Hydraulics, or 3+ years in a relevant QA/test engineering role.

• White Card, First Aid and a valid driver's licence (or willingness to obtain).

• Machinery operation experience (Dozer, Grader, Excavator, Skid Steer) is a strong advantage.

• Experience in fabrication, welding, hydraulics, or general mechanical work is a plus.
