Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. We believe in fostering a supportive and individualized environment that aids in each student’s growth and development.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented full-time Custodian and Maintenance Associate to ensure the daily cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our school facilities. This role is vital in maintaining a safe and well-kept environment for students, staff, and visitors. Reporting to the Facilities Director, you will perform cleaning tasks, routine maintenance, and support school operations.
Schedule: Monday - Friday (occasional evening shifts may be required for coverage)
Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
Hourly Rate: $20.00
Responsibilities:
Cleaning
- Clean offices, classrooms, and common areas, ensuring a sanitary environment.
- Vacuum carpets daily and shampoo carpets as needed.
- Collect and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
- Sanitize bathrooms daily and empty/clean refrigerators weekly.
- Maintain and store cleaning tools and equipment.
Maintenance
- Perform routine repairs and servicing of buildings, equipment, and fixtures.
- Strip, wax, and buff hallways when assigned.
- Maintain grounds, including lawn care and snow removal.
- Install partitions, ceiling tiles, and floor coverings.
- Assemble and install new furniture and equipment.
- Change light bulbs and perform minor painting tasks as needed.
Building Support
- Assist with moving and arranging furniture for events and meetings.
- Accept and distribute deliveries.
- Support the set-up and breakdown of stages, chairs, tables, and more.
Compliance
- Follow Aramark Best Practices for cleaning tasks.
- Safely handle chemicals and follow MSDS guidelines.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; further education preferred
- Experience in carpentry, painting, or automotive repair is a plus
