What You'll Do
Clinical Care
- Perform preliminary ophthalmic and optometric testing, including visual acuity, tonometry, auto-refraction, auto-keratometry, color vision, and stereo acuity testing.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, including fundus photography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual field testing.
- Prepare patients for examinations by collecting medical history and documenting accurate clinical information.
- Assist optometrists during patient examinations and perform delegated clinical duties within the scope of training.
- Educate patients on testing procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions.
Patient Experience & Clinic Operations
- Escort patients throughout their visit and help maintain efficient patient flow.
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist with patient registration as needed.
- Support front office and optical operations to ensure seamless patient care.
Equipment & Quality Assurance
- Clean and disinfect examination rooms and equipment between patients following infection prevention protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and quality checks on ophthalmic equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels, restock clinical supplies, and maintain organized examination rooms.

Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as an Optometric Technician or in a related optometry clinical setting
- Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish language skills, fluent
- Current Certified Paraoptometric, Paraoptometric Assistant or Paraoptometric Technician (CPO) certification preferred
