Marketing and Project Manager, Center for Asia Pacific Studies

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Director, the Marketing and Project Manager provides strategic, operational and administrative leadership in support of the Center for Asia Pacific Studies at the University of San Francisco. The position is responsible for planning, marketing, and executing the Center’s academic and public programs and events; overseeing communications and outreach initiatives; and supporting the Director’s fundraising and external engagement efforts.

This is a full-time, one-year renewable position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement the Center's academic and public programs and events in collaboration with the Director.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans and associated budgets to promote the Center’s academic and public programs and events, in consultation with the Director.
  • Develop and oversee the design, production, and distribution of print and digital materials, media releases, and social media postings.
  • Communicate with event speakers and participants on behalf of the Center as well as with related university personnel and faculty, all in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the administration of the Center’s scholarship, fellowship, and internship programs by managing application processes, maintaining records, and communicating with applicants and program participants.
  • Create and maintain master project documents, punch lists, calendars, and operational workflows to keep stakeholders informed and projects on track.
  • Produce the Center’s annual impact report and fundraising-related reports and materials to support donor stewardship and grant reporting.
  • Manage and regularly update the Center’s social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, to promote programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze program participation, marketing, and event metrics and make recommendations for continuous improvement based on assessment data.
  • Work with the Program Assistant to maintain event listings on the Center's website, University calendar, and newsletter and to support related marketing and communications activities.
  • Develop written content for the Center's website, blog, newsletters, and other communication channels. 
  • Track program budgets and expenditures, and support contracts, payments, reimbursements, and other operational and administrative processes.
  • Supervise student assistants or temporary support staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, public administration, non-profit management, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in higher education, nonprofit, communications, or related fields, with demonstrated experience in event management, student program administration, conference organization, and marketing and communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including through the use of social media.
  • Strong organizational judgment, discretion, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with assessment data tracking, and report development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace and familiarity with tools such as Canva, Smartsheet, Tableau, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems.
  • Ability to identify resources, solve problems, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and take initiative.
  • Ability to attend evening or weekend events on occasion.
  • Experience working with people of diverse/multicultural backgrounds, or in student services with a diverse graduate population.
  • Understanding and commitment to USF’s mission, vision, and values.
