Description
Electrical Design Lead
Direct Start is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to manage and lead electrical engineering design and advisory services. The role involves overseeing electrical scopes of work for complex industrial and manufacturing projects, serving as the Engineer of Record, and supporting project pursuits by developing work plans, design schedules, and fee estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage electrical design teams and oversee all aspects of electrical engineering for industrial and manufacturing projects
- Serve as Engineer of Record on complex projects
- Develop work plans, design schedules, and fee estimates for project pursuits
- Provide department leadership including career development, recruitment, and quality assurance
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards
Required Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing design
- PE license (Professional Engineer) or equivalent certification is a plus
- Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of power systems, motor controls, and industrial electrical standards
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent project management and communication skills
