To provide our guests and crew with efficient and excellent quality laundry, dry cleaning and/or pressing services.

Responsibility and Authority

• Demonstrates genuine concern for guests’ wellbeing at all times;
• Ensures that all guest and or crew requests, inquiries and concerns are handled in a prompt manner;
• Ability to press and process the Officers Laundry, guest laundry, crew laundry and uniforms.
• To report any stained, damaged and/or any other problems found with garments to the Wash Specialist or Dry Cleaning Specialist.
• To properly use and handle the pressing equipment to ensure optimum results are gained at all times.
• Ensures adequate supplies are maintained at all times to ensure service levels and standards are not compromised, reporting inventory levels to the Laundry Master on a daily basis.
• Helps other laundry members to finish their jobs when his/her own duties are completed.
• Assists in ensuring work place is well maintained and cleaned on a daily basis.
• Pro-active approach to problem solving;
• Ensures that open communication is maintained with all depts. onboard.
• Performs all other duties as required.
• Helps trains new laundry staff on departmental operations and retrains and updates team on new initiatives or procedures.
• Completes, participates and promotes the company’s service training programs.
• Assists the Chief Housekeeper in implementing and maintaining guidelines, procedures and training practices set by the corporate office;
• Maintains positive relationships with colleagues
• Respects the privacy and rights of colleagues
  Promotes cooperation and teamwork
• Checks safety devises, turning on steam, water and air valves. Reports any issues and/or leaking valves. Damaged insulation, air and water paths.
• Inspects machinery and work area daily and reports any equipment malfunctions or problems to Laundry Master.
• Ensures that proper chemicals are used and disposed of accordingly to the approved chemical list.
• Participates in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions from ship’s command;
• Complies with company safety and pollution prevention regulations;
• Is coherent with all duties listed in SMS for this position.
• Responsible for the safe management of tetrachloroethene, or perchloroethylene (PERC), and the proper use of personal protective equipment, storage requirements and waste disposal, according to SMS policies associated with this chemical.

• Profile And Technical Knowledge needed:
  -Understanding of Laundry operation within a luxury service environment with specialized expertise in stain removal. 
  -Has worked within laundry operations as a laundry Man.
  -Has a basic understanding of washers, dryers and flat ironers used.
  -Ability to work in an international environment; 
  -Well organized;
