About the Role
The UK Transformation Manager is responsible for delivering and supporting all our complex strategic Transformation programs across the UK Asset Team, creating maximum value for the business and ensuring we are deploying the right resources to deliver the programs successfully. This will include leading on Project Venus, managing the 5-year Contract awards across our key Construction categories and supporting our New to Network, and New to industry sites.
The UK Transformation Manager will also be responsible for managing all transformation programs relating to the integration of bp Pulse Build, Acquisitions and Property teams, helping define and set our structure for 2027 and beyond. The job holder will provide clear and inspirational leadership across the wider UK Asset team and be directly responsible for the execution of all our key Transformation Projects.
The role will also support the new UK Construction Manager in resetting how the UK Construction Team works and will support the set up and delivery of our key KPI’s around HSE, Project Duration, Cost and Quality. The role will have responsibility for management of significant annual capex budget in 2027 and act as the independent gatekeeper ensuring we deploy the available capex to the right M&C and Pulse programs to maximise the returns to the UK business.
Key Responsibilities:
You will:
Lead the safe and successful delivery of major strategic programmes, including Project Venus and other UK Asset initiatives.
Oversee multi-year construction contract delivery across key categories, supporting new site developments and expansion projects.
Drive transformation and integration programmes across Construction, Property, Acquisitions, and bp Pulse teams, helping shape the future operating model.
Partner with senior leaders to provide project management expertise, coaching, and strategic guidance.
Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and measurable business outcomes.
Act as the central coordination point for programme communications, ensuring effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage significant capital and revenue budgets, ensuring efficient investment and delivery of business objectives.
Collaborate with Construction and Procurement teams to develop and implement a future-focused construction strategy, including contractor partnerships and contract management.
Support the development, tracking, and continuous improvement of construction performance metrics and KPIs.
Lead initiatives that enhance construction efficiency, innovation, and operational excellence.
Ensure the successful mobilisation and transition of new framework contracts and delivery partners.
Build organisational capability through talent development, succession planning, mentoring, and field engagement.
Champion the adoption of digital tools and systems that improve project planning, execution, reporting, and transparency across construction activities.
Experience & Qualifications:
Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven project or programme management experience, ideally within retail, mobility, energy, construction, or infrastructure environments.
Strong understanding of retail operations and construction delivery.
Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing, with a track record of leading a strong safety culture.
Experience delivering complex construction programmes and achieving key performance, cost, quality, and schedule targets.
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
Experience managing significant capital and operational budgets.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
A collaborative leadership style, with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and team development.
