The Public Health Officer serves as Mono County's chief medical authority, providing medical leadership and oversight for the Public Health Division. Reporting to the Director of Health and Human Services, the position guides public health policy, oversees disease prevention efforts, coordinates emergency public health response activities, and serves as the County's trusted medical expert. The Mono County Health and Human Services Department – Public Health Division is dedicated to protecting and improving the health of residents and visitors through disease prevention, emergency preparedness, health promotion, environmental health collaboration, and community partnerships. A successful candidate will have an understanding of public health, a passion for fostering healthy communities, and be a licensed physician.
Possession of a Master’s degree in Public Health or equivalent is desirable.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSPossession and maintenance of a valid unrestricted Physician’s and Surgeon’s license issued by the California Medical Board or the prerequisites and ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
Possession of a driver’s license valid in California.
