IT Graduate Program Coordinator

Are you passionate about developing early careers talent and building programs that create lasting impact? Do you enjoy bringing people together, creating structure from the ground up, and shaping the future workforce?

Solve by Talent is partnering with the University of Sydney to recruit an IT Graduate Program Coordinator to establish and lead ICT's first dedicated graduate program.

This is a unique opportunity to build something from the ground up. Working within the University's ICT division, you'll design the frameworks, rotations, governance and experiences that will attract, develop and retain the next generation of technology professionals.

Why join the University of Sydney?

Join one of Australia's leading universities at a pivotal point of change, where technology is evolving to better support student learning, empower teaching excellence, and enable research delivery at global scale.

ICT is central to delivering the University's academic mission. This newly created function has strong executive support and genuine enthusiasm across the ICT division. You'll help shape the future workforce through a flagship graduate program while working across a large, collaborative and complex environment.

The Opportunity

As the IT Graduate Program Coordinator, you'll establish, lead and continuously manage ICT's graduate program, helping build the future technology workforce of one of Australia's leading universities.

In your first year, you'll establish the program's foundations by developing its framework, governance, policies, recruitment approach, graduate rotations, capability pathways and stakeholder partnerships. Working closely with ICT leaders, you'll shape the graduate experience from attraction and onboarding through to development and permanent placement.

You'll then take ongoing ownership of the program's delivery, performance and continuous improvement, ensuring a positive graduate experience while strengthening ICT's future talent pipeline. You'll also identify opportunities to expand internships, work integrated learning and other early careers initiatives across the function.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement and continuously manage ICT's graduate program, including development of ICT's graduate program framework, governance, policies, documentation, and reporting, ensuring a consistent, compliant and scalable program experience.

  • Manage the end-to-end graduate program lifecycle, including program branding, attraction, recruitment, onboarding, rotations, development pathways and permanent placements.

  • Develop and deliver graduate learning and capability initiatives, including rotational programs, competency frameworks, mentoring, workshops, micro-credentials and networking opportunities.

  • Provide ongoing pastoral care, career guidance and performance support to graduates, fostering engagement, wellbeing, development and retention throughout the program.

  • Partner with ICT leaders and University stakeholders to identify capability needs, secure meaningful placements, understand workforce requirements and align the program to strategic workforce priorities.

  • Monitor and evaluate program performance using workforce metrics, retention outcomes, participant feedback and business insights to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate impact.

  • Grow ICT's early-careers talent pipeline by leading graduate branding and outreach activities and identifying opportunities to expand internships, work-integrated learning and other early-career programs.

What we're looking for

  • Experience designing, developing and delivering graduate, internship, early careers or talent development programs.

  • Strong project and program management skills, including establishing governance, frameworks, policies, reporting and continuous improvement approaches.

  • Experience managing talent programs or employee lifecycle initiatives, including attraction, recruitment, onboarding, development pathways and career transitions.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence leaders, managers and technical teams.

  • Strong written communication skills, including experience developing policies, business cases, program materials, communications, reports and presentations.

  • Experience supporting and developing early-career talent through coaching, mentoring, career development, engagement or wellbeing initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use workforce data, participant feedback and business insights to evaluate outcomes and drive program improvement.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, translating workforce and capability needs into scalable talent solutions.

Note: Higher education experience is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in consulting, government, technology, construction and other industries who are passionate about developing emerging talent and shaping future workforce capability. Experience partnering with technology, digital or professional services teams to develop capability and talent pipelines is highly regarded.

What's in it for you?

  • 17% superannuation to support your financial future.

  • Extremely generous parental leave entitlements.

  • Competitive salary with salary packaging options.

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

  • Career development and learning opportunities.

  • Health and wellbeing programs including Fitness Passport.

  • Access to a vibrant, globally recognised university community.

  • Opportunity to build a flagship graduate program.

  • Work within a globally recognised university
