We are supporting an established national organisation with a strategic mandate to oversee the safety and regulatory framework of Greece's offshore energy sector. This is a unique opportunity to lead the country's Competent Authority for offshore safety and play a key role in shaping national policy, regulatory oversight and the safe development of offshore energy activities.
The role will work closely with relevant state authorities, as well as with other Company teams, including Environmental, Geoscience, Legal, and Finance, supporting cross-functional work where required. It will also involve participation, when needed, in meetings with third parties and/or investors related to the offshore energy sector.
As a Drilling Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute by:
- Monitoring of drilling and/or production operations carried out in offshore environment
- Evaluating daily reports of offshore drilling operations
- Monitoring of the operations of offshore hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation facilities and control of their compliance with Law 4409/2016
- Evaluating documents under Law 4409/2016 submitted by the Operators/Owners of offshore installations
- Organizing inspections for offshore hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation facilities and participation in them as drilling experts
- Conducting assessments and inspection reports
- Monitoring of certification of installations
- Act as a point of contact for on-going field inspections
- Contribute to the issuing of technical guidance documents by the Competent Authority
- Undertaking other work that may be assigned by the Regulatory Director of the Competent Authority for the purpose of carrying out its task.
Required qualifications
- University degree in Engineering or a related field
- Master’s Degree in fields such as: Petroleum engineering, Process Safety, Oil and Gas Production
- 7 years of work experience in the offshore oil and gas sector
- At least 4 years of proven offshore field experience
- Experience in industrial inspections
- Specialized, certified technical knowledge regarding the drilling of offshore hydrocarbon wells and the operation of offshore hydrocarbon exploration and production facilities.
- Knowledge of well design software (e.g. Landmark, Petrel, etc.)
- Excellent and proven knowledge of English
- Presentation, communication and computer skills
Desirable qualifications
- International Well Control Forum (IWCF) certification is highly regarded.
