Description
- Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited Staff, S33 level position. Starting salary range: $62,218.00 - $76,217.00/annually, depending upon experience.

The Recruitment & Hiring Specialist is a full-time, benefited position, responsible for executing the College’s hiring and recruitment strategy and operations. This position focuses on fulfillment of the operational and tactical aspects of Human Resource services specializing on those related to the hiring process and services to/for employees via planning, processing, tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem-solving/troubleshooting. Serves as the primary specialist for the overall hiring process to include recruitment, analysis, compensation, and new hire processing.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – this position is exempt and is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.

Work in partnership and build relationships with departments, hiring managers, and executives throughout the full-cycle recruitment, selection, and hiring processes
- Maintains applicant tracking system and works with candidates through the pre-hire and hiring processes, including conducting pay placement analysis and job offers.
- Ensures equitable candidate screening, actively sources candidates, and assists hiring teams in applying equitable principles and practices.
- Strives for process improvement by defining and documenting workforce needs and strategies to achieve equity and fair recruitment practices.
- Create and present impactful and engaging recruitment, selection, and hiring training.
- Coordinate candidate travel and process reimbursements.
- Reviews and verifies compliance with federal and state guidelines, and College policy.
- Advise and work with hiring managers on internal employee movements.
- Clearly, concisely, and professionally communicates via email, phone, virtually, and/or in person to applicants, hiring managers, and employees.
- Prepares and analyzes recruitment, selection and hiring data for process improvement opportunities.
- Keep accurate record keeping and documentation of discussions.
- Conducts training for hiring managers and search committee members.
- Resolve HR-related concerns and complaints
- Provide backup support for other team members.
- Collaborate effectively across the team to ensure uninterrupted service to stakeholders.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

- Knowledge of office procedures and of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, FMLA, and FLSA laws and regulations.

- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well

Minimum Qualifications:.- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, communications, human resources, psychology, or related field of study.
- Two (2) years of experience working in human resources.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, communications, human resources, psychology, or related field of study.
- Two or more years of work experience in talent acquisition, staffing and/or recruitment.
- Professional working experience in partnering with Executive leadership and various levels of managers and supervisors on recruiting, selection, and hiring processes.
- Demonstrated skill in working effectively under pressure, ability to be agile and flexible with multiple deadlines, and changing priorities.
- Certification as a Society for Human Resources Management SHRM-(S)CP or Human Resource Certification Institute HRCI (S)PHR.
- Professional knowledge, understanding, and application of ATS and OR HRIS systems.
- Self-motivated team player with high-level attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
