This opportunity entails being responsible for working with public agencies and private individuals to identify, negotiate, and purchase private property for public use or private projects.

You will directly contribute to the delivery of critical infrastructure projects that strengthen and connect communities. As a member of our team, you will work closely with property owners, public agencies and project stakeholders to acquire property rights and advance high-impact transportation and development initiatives. An exciting role that requires negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills along with a unique blend of technical expertise, field engagement and stakeholder interaction making it ideal for individuals who enjoy solving complex challenges and seeing the tangible impact of their work.

We are open to candidates interested in Part-Time opportunities. We are open to Senior level candidates as well.

What You'll Do:

• Prepares offer and conveyance documents for property being acquired for transportation or utility projects.
• Reviews title work to determine ownership and encumbrances needing to be cleared, as well as appraisals to understand the basis of the offer and impact to the property.
• Meets or communicates with property owners to negotiate the offer for the proposed right of way.  Reports to lead right of way agent for project and/or right of way manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• HS/GED and 3 years experience with right of way (DOT, transit or utility) or other relevant experience.

What We Prefer:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
• Real estate license, as required by state law.
• 2 years of Real Estate experience or Real Estate Paralegal experience.
• Valid NJ Driver's License and transportation for field visit.

The approximate pay range for New Jersey is $81,859.63 - $133,952.12. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position based on all selected locations within the state at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
