Key skills and prior experience that align well with this position

• Java development with modern frameworks – demonstrated proficiency in Spring Boot, Quarkus, and core J2EE technologies; ability to work across all stages of the software development lifecycle
• Microservices and API development – experience designing and developing RESTful APIs with understanding of API security protocols (OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect), API managers, and containerisation platforms (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Full-stack web development – proficiency in JavaScript, Angular 2+, HTML, CSS, and web services; experience with relational databases (Oracle) and Spring JDBC
• DevOps and tooling familiarity – exposure to CI/CD pipelines, version control (GitLab), build automation (Maven, Jenkins), code quality tools (SonarQube), and collaboration platforms (Jira, Confluence)

What type of work will I be doing?

• Program Java components using industry-standard frameworks such as Spring Boot and Quarkus, adhering to application coding standards
• Code new developments and enhancements based on technical design specifications, completing assigned tasks within given scope and timeframes
• Design and develop microservices and RESTful APIs, with understanding of API security protocols (OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect)
• Design and implement integration tests using testing frameworks and test-driven development approaches (e.g., Cucumber, JUnit)
• Maintain, tune, and repair applications to keep them performing according to technical and functional specifications
• Integrate technical and application components to meet business requirements, including integration with external third-party systems
• Participate in peer code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback
• Support system testing activities and provide user support when applications are deployed to production environments
