The Position

The Senior Lead Engineer defines tasks for others and drives medium to large-scale initiatives across a product or product line. In this strategic role, you will coach and lead other engineers, excel in stakeholder negotiations, and provide direction for mid to long-term goals. You will actively contribute to technical knowledge through publications, inspire innovation, and lead the design of complex multi-service solutions. With expertise in advanced cloud features and Kubernetes, you will promote architectural consistency, drive technical strategy for major components, and mentor senior engineers to ensure the highest standards of engineering quality across the organization.

Challenges others in a growth-enabling way, effectively leverages team strengths, and acts as a coach and lead for other engineers.
Stakeholder Management: Demonstrates a strong grasp of stakeholder ecosystems and their needs, excelling in negotiations and partnerships for mutual benefits. Provides clear direction to mid- to long-term goals and objectives.
Impact/Strategy: Provides global-level support for innovative and technological initiatives. Actively gives speeches and shares knowledge at global and international events, and drives tech universities, Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Engaged in Chapter/Site related activities.
Complexity / (Product Size): Operates at the Product Line, Chapter, Domain, or Site level, making a direct impact on the growth and engagement of other chapter members.
Business / Technical ability: Actively contributes to the advancement of technical knowledge within the field through publications, presentations, and mentorship (e.g., playing the role of capability owner/hero). Inspires innovation, drives innovative solutions in line with emerging technology trends, and engages in building new approaches to existing problems.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
Demonstrated experience defining tasks, coaching engineers, and successfully driving medium to large-scale initiatives across a product or product line.
Proven track record of contributing to the technical strategy for major components/services and participating in global knowledge-sharing events.
Technical Skills
Deep, hands-on experience designing and implementing Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud and/or Salesforce Health Cloud.
Strong understanding of the core Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud) and how to extend it for patient support services.
Proficiency with declarative tools like Flow Builder, and deep familiarity with OmniStudio (FlexCards, OmniScripts, DataRaptors) for building industry-specific UI/UX.
Hands-on experience configuring and deploying Agentforce to build custom, autonomous AI agents for life sciences use cases (e.g., patient program enrollment, MSL support, or clinical trial screening). Ability to define agent actions, set strict compliance guardrails, and utilize prompt builder.
Experience with Einstein AI capabilities for next-best-action or patient insights
Proven experience implementing Salesforce Shield (Platform Encryption, Field Audit Trail, Event Monitoring) to secure sensitive Patient Health Information (PHI)
Working knowledge of MuleSoft (strongly preferred) or other iPaaS tools to orchestrate complex data flows between Salesforce and external data lakes/warehouses.
Solid understanding of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL/SOSL to guide technical teams and review code architecture.
Experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX) and CI/CD pipelines tailored for Salesforce
Ability to manage complex sandbox landscapes and deployment strategies across multiple workstreams.
Experience implementing reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules for services and teams.
Ability to design observability for interconnected services, improve monitoring, and solve complex cross-service issues while profiling performance.
Strong background in developing advanced testing strategies, championing automation, implementing security best practices, and conducting threat modeling.
Additional Qualifications
Exceptional leadership and mentorship skills, specifically in mentoring senior engineers and promoting code quality and architectural consistency through critical design reviews.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of effectively communicating complex technical information and building mutually beneficial partnerships across stakeholder ecosystems.
