Description
Resolution Think, through its joint venture partnership with Cognito Systems, LLC, are seeking a Referral Clerk to support administrative operations within the military treatment facility at Sheppard Air Force Base . The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination.
Location: Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas

Key Duties:
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
- Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
- Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
- Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes.
- Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
- Maintain accurate referral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.
- Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Must be a US Citizen per contract requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Working knowledge of medical terminology plus one (1) year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross) where required by the MTF
- Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Favorable employment subject to completion of background, security, and drug screening requirements as stated in contract.
- Willingness to comply with DHA medical screening requirements
