The Occupational Health Technician will be primarily assigned to 1500 Arbor Way, Kaukauna, and will provide both clinical and patient service support as needed. This position plays a key role in supporting daily Occupational Health operations by assisting with clinical services while also functioning as a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent customer service. Typical work hours will fall between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Schedule adjustments may be made as necessary to ensure appropriate coverage and support departmental priorities.

Pay Range:

$20.80 - $31.20

Major Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the on-site Health Screening Professional, performs screening tests and procedures including: urine drug screen, breath alcohol testing, pulmonary function tests, Snellen eye exams, Titmus, and other as assigned. As appropriate, conveys screening results to the employer.
  • Takes and records patient's medical history and vital signs.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and forms essential to screening equipment.
  • Conducts calibration/calibration checks for all screening equipment.
  • Provides phone and data entry support to Aurora Occupational Health Services (OHS) clinic.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • A valid drivers license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Education Required:
  • High School Graduate.

Experience Required:
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in customer service.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Current certification in urine drug screens or completion of certification within 120 days of employment is required.
  • Current certification in breath alcohol testing or completion of certification within 120 days of employment is required.
  • Current certification in spirometry testing, audiometry testing, and FAA examination or completion of certifications within one year of employment is required.
  • Ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced, stressful situations.
  • Excellent judgment, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work compatibly with all internal and external customers.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer software programs and office equipment. Previous data entry experience helpful.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to work well with others.
  • Ability to operate department equipment, computer, fax, telephone, audiometric system, pulmonary function testing unit.
  • Must have functional speech, hearing, and vision.
  • Must be able to work in a moderately stressful environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and reach above shoulders frequently.
  • Exposed to blood and body fluids and chemicals. Protective clothing must be worn as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • May be exposed to hazardous road and weather conditions.
