Job Description

As a Security Officer Distribution Center in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location. You will help manage site access, verify credentials, monitor entry points, and support security-related operations through professional communication and customer service. Your visible presence will help deter incidents while contributing to a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and embraces innovation.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and employees at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and security-related policies.
• Monitor and control access points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials as applicable, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Screen inbound and outbound traffic in accordance with site procedures, including documenting vehicle, driver, and delivery information.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
